The Spring 4th Grade Plant Science program is an 8 week program for children in public school. The students come to the green house for an hour a week to engage in various science themed gardening projects, planting, growing and utilizing their own hard work to make the green house come alive!
The lesson plans are based on science standards tailored to fit the needs of public school standards. Classes focus on function, transpiration, and photosynthesis. Each day consists of opening and closing student engagement circle, hands on experiments, garden work and related movement games. The goal is to have a student driven classroom, allowing for exploration and a direct deep connection with plants, food, the land and each other.
