VFFC's is committed to energy efficiency and renewable energy throughout the 2.93 acre property:

  • VFFC's state of the art Biomass Heating System utilizes agricultural waste products, offsetting VFFC's carbon emissions (VFFC acknowledges funding from the U.S. Department of Energy, U.S. Senator Patrick Leahy, the Vermont Agency of Agriculture, Food & Markets, and the Vermont Sustainable Jobs Fund, Inc.)
  • VFFC's Food, Storage, and Aggregation Facility's 13.2 kW rooftop solar array provides a renewable energy source
  • VFFC is collaborating with Vermont Law School, Institute for Energy and the Environment, Energy Clinic, as well as Efficiency Vermont to identify building efficiencies for future implementation
  • VFFC includes energy efficiency, renewable energy, and sustainability to mitigate climate change with VFFC's projects and throughout the property
